She was predeceased by: her husband Carl; her parents, John Smart (Jack) and Annie Smart; her sister Audrey Smart; and her sister-in-law Helen Devitt.
She is survived by: her sister Pat Dixon of Summerland, B. C.; her sons, Wayne (Patti), Terry (Judy) and Larry (Susan); her grandchildren, Melissa, Michael (Amanda), Greg (Sandra), Shelley (Jon Agnew), Kyle (Jenn), Rebecca and Matthew (Amanda); and her great great grandchildren, Lila, Gibson, Maggie, Nolan, Emily, Madelyn, Liam, Grace, Jaiden and Harlie.
Mom was inducted into the Clarington Sports Hall of Fame in 2016 in the category of Honorary member for her contributions to the community for 25 years.
