Gail Noreen Rickard Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gail Noreen Rickard (Bowmanville, Ontario), who passed away on August 29, 2021. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was loved and cherished by many people including: her brother-in-law David; her parents, Doug and Wilma; her husband Donald Rickard; her daughter Karen (Jeff); her sisters, Joan Candy (Bill) and Ruth Lowe (David); her son Alan Rickard (Rochelle); and her grandchildren, Alan, Everett, Norah and Stevie.

Due to Covid restrictions only a certain number of people are allowed to enter the facility at a time, we appreciate your patience if it is necessary to wait.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to Newcastle United Church or Community Care Durham.

I will miss seeing her, talking on the phone & her e-mails. I am so terribly sorry for your loss of such a fine person, an excellent wife & mother. She was & always will be one of my favorite people! Rosemary Gray (Gail was in all my classes from grade 7-13. ) I cherish her memory!”

“Gail and I grew up in Applewood Acres in the late 1950’s. We rode bikes from my house to hers, and went to Pioneer Camp together. She made me laugh more than anyone else I can remember. I think her wonderful sense of humour came from her Dad. Together with her sisters, Joan and Ruth, we would sing along to all the Broadway musicals at the top of our lungs! Gail and I reconnected just 2 years ago when our concert bands got together to play in Bowmanville. Heartfelt sympathy to Don and her family.”

We were both rookie teachers and I remember her professionalism and enthusiasm for teaching and for her students.
