He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Francis and Doris Francis. He is survived by: his wife Rosemary Waters; his children, Scott Francis and LeeAnne Arnott (Colin); his stepchildren, Nicole Chartrand (Mark) and David Waters (Tracy); his grandchildren, Scott (Christina), Rosey (Briar), Jamie, Janine (Tryton) and Carey; his stepgrandchildren, Matthew Chartrand, Devon Waters, Aidan Waters and Grace Waters; his great grandchildren, Isla and Vienna; his close friends, Sid Graveline and George Hagerdy; and his pets, Molly and Jakey.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Canadian Diabetes Association or the Durham Humane Society.
