He is survived by: his children, David (Gail Essex), Karin Stinson and Craig (Debbie Essex); his grandchildren, Kevin, Melanie Essex, Kelowna, Darryl, Sonia Essex, Starr, Corey McLachlan, Squamish, Ella, Scott Wray, Cleo, Will Scott, Bailee, Pat Dumouchelle, Walker Essex and Barrie; his great grandchildren, Abygale, Clara Essex, Kelowna, Brooklyn Essex, Ula, Stig McLachlan, Squamish, Barrow, Essex Wray, Rielle, Lani, Atlas Scott, Brantley and Boyd Dumouchelle; his sisters, Mable Axworthy and Joan Yates; and his siblings-in-law, Marion Hadley, Alison Hesketh, Isabelle Rescoral and James Suttie. He is also survived by his sixteen nieces and nephews.
