He was predeceased by: his wife Mary Ann Baxter; his parents, Donald Richard Richter and Dorothy Milicent Richter; and his brothers, Don Richter, Doug Richter and Bob Richter.

He is survived by: his stepsons, Timothy Baxter and James Baxter; and his sister-in-law Jane Richter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
