Tony Verburg Obituary

We are sad to announce that on February 1, 2025, Tony Verburg (Blyth, Ontario) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Johannes Verburg and Antje Verburg; his brothers-in-law, John Branderhorst and Martin Wilts; his brother Henry; his siblings-in-law, Jean Lubbers and Andy Lubbers; and his niece Tina Hessels.

He is survived by: his wife Sylvia Nonkes; his children, Raymond Verburg (Tonya), Keith Verburg (Miriam), Michael Verburg (Sarah), Angela Oosterom (Jeroen) and Julie Hunse (Jonathan); his stepchildren, Mark Nonkes, Peter Nonkes (Tammy), Aron Nonkes and Angela Mourao (Brad); his grandchildren, Nathan Verburg, Justine Verburg (Mitch), Jared Verburg (Amanda), Hannah, Johannes Verburg (Rachel), Micah Verburg, Joel Verburg, Danielle, Gabriella, Elijah Verburg, Jake, Aimee, Lena, Max Oosterom, Willem, Janelle, Ethan, Mia, Cor Hunse, West, Monty, Harlan Nonkes, Jack, Ava Nonkes, Adele Mourao, Levi, Bennett and Eliana Verburg; his siblings, Peta Branderhorst, Janie Wilts, Koos Verburg (Rita), Wilma Hessels (John) and John Verburg (Margaret); and his brother-in-law George Lubbers (Cathy).

Visitation was held on Thursday, February 6th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Blyth Christian Reformed Church (354 Queen St, Blyth, ON N0M1H0). A funeral service was held on Friday, February 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
