He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Shamas and June Shamas. He is survived by: his wife Laurel; his children, Robin Shamas, Rob Shamas and Ashley Shamas (Jason Major); and his grandchildren, Aiden Giovanatti and Ashtyn Schellekens.
Donations can be made in his honour to the ALS Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto.
