He was predeceased by: his parent George Saarela. He is survived by: his children, Carl Saarela of Blind River and Robert Saarela of Elliot Lake; his grandchild Chloe Saarela of Blind River; his stepchildren, Randy Desrosiers (Tracy) of Bowmanville and Richard Desrosiers (Jennifer) of Oshawa; his stepgrandchildren, Payton Desrosiers, Bodin Desrosiers and Caitlyn Desrosiers; his parent Dolly Saarela; and his siblings, Carol Reid of Iron Bridge, Bryan Saarela (Nancy) and Nestor Saarela of Iron Bridge. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
