He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Laurie; his daughters, Amanda Hackett (Tim Brown) and Sarah Carnie (Rob Carnie); his parents, Joyce Hackett and Lorne Hackett; his siblings, Brenda Hackett-Steele (Brian), Greg Hackett (Chris) and Mac Hackett; his nieces and nephews, Emma, Chase, Jill, Brandan, Jocelynne, Jolene, Hayden, Ava and Bryan; his aunt Bell; and his uncle Chester.
