She was predeceased by: her husband Everett Kenneth Gordon Bates; and her parents, Benjamin Betts and Julia Betts. She is survived by: her children, Barbara Johnson (Leslie) and Wayne Bates (late Bev); her grandchildren, Lindsay, Ken, Julia, Patricia and Kristopher; and her great grandchildren, Payton, Alex, Everett, Erica, Nathan, Sierra and Maverick.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the ALS Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
