She was predeceased by: her parents, Cora Appleby and Clayton Appleby; her spouse Lee Arnold Smith; her grandson Matthew; and her siblings, Vera, Violet, Mary Lee, Gerald and Jim.

She is survived by: her children, Carolyn Howitt (late Earl) of Trenton, Bonnie Smith of Trenton and Fred Smith (Mary-Lou) of Surrey, BC.; and her grandchildren, Bill, Cheri, Mark, Paul (Crystal), Shelly (Andrew), Darrell, Daniel and Jeffrey (Deanna). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
