He was predeceased by: his wife Carole Bongard; his parents, Arthur Bongard and Daisy Bongard; his children, Warren Bongard, Kent Bongard and Carole-Sue Bongard; and his sisters, Mary Mills and Marina Bates.

He is survived by: his children, Celia Embury (Paul) and Kevin Bongard (Anne); his grandchildren, Shayne Elliott (Dave), Kristen Lee (Joe), Phillip Embury, Dan Embury (Suzanne Paes), Meghan Bongard (Jesse) and John Bongard; his brother George Bongard (Shirley); his daughter-in-law Jayne Bongard; and his brother-in-law William Bates. He is also survived by 9 Great grandchildren.
