She was predeceased by: her parent California; and her sister Annelies of Jonge. She is survived by: her husband Nicholas; her children, Amanda Pyl, Andrea Roth (Chris), Shawn Pyl (Heather Duncan), Kayla Warren (Kevin) and Jamie Pyl (Mel); her grandchildren, Ophelia, Mathias Roth, Ronan, Winry Warren and Boaz Pyl; and her sisters, Grietje of Jonge, Reeny Davison, Margie Escamilla and Wilma Manchester.
As one of Joanne's passions was fulfilled in the kitchen, and specifically the Medeba kitchen, memorial donations in Joanne's name can be made to Medeba Adventure Learning Centre for the new kitchen that they are raising money to build.
