She was predeceased by: her parents, George McCarthy and Ruth McCarthy; and her brother Barry McCarthy. She is survived by: her husband John Douglas Legate; her children, Julie Anne, Kira Marie and John Mark; and her grandchildren, Russell Cheng Legate-Yang (Julie), Vivian Jin Legate-Yang (Julie) and Shane Peter Thomas Hensley (Kira).
