He is survived by: his wife Elsie; his children, Richard and Pamela Bowers (Chris); and his grandchildren, Sarah (Devon), Adam, Nicole (Garmamie) and Robyn (Jesse). He is also survived by great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, as expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in his loving memory to St. Peter's Anglican Church, Upper Island Cove or Huronview Home for the Aged in Clinton, Ontario.
