She was predeceased by: her grandchild Nakoa; and her sibling Stacey Warren. She is survived by: her children, Amanda Maynard (Aaron) and Lauren Sutherland (Dylan Baker); her grandchildren, Arya, Abby, Arlo and Shiye; and her siblings, Tamie and Eric. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Donations in Valarie's memory can be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Ontario SPCA. Any donations will be greatly appreciated by the family.
