He was predeceased by: his siblings, Florence, Kay, Rita, Beatrice and William.

He is survived by: his wife Margaret; his children, Jeffrey Poirier and Wanda Poirier; his grandchildren, Cassandra Weatherston, Victoria Weatherston, Jonathan Poirier and Nicholas Hatch; and his siblings, Helen Di Girolamo (late Sam) and Martin Poirier (Claire).

Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
