He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Truen; and his stepfather James McPhee. He is survived by: his children, John Truen Jr. (Amanda Richardson) and Teresa Truen (Mitchel Harris); his grandchildren, Talia and Nakayda; his parent Lieve McPhee; his brother Kevin Truen (Lorrie); his niece Alexandra; and his nephew Zachary Truen.
