It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joanne May (Lloyd) Barnes (Barrie, Ontario), born in Newmarket, Ontario, who passed away on January 7, 2021, at the age of 71, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Raymond "Andy" Lloyd and Gudrun "Goody" Lloyd; her siblings, Teresa Campbell (Don) of Orillia and Ken Lloyd (Lyn) of Dunchurch, ON.; her husband Brian; her sons, Thomas (Andrea) of Barrie, Matthew (Erika) of Cambridge and Michael (Lara) of Toronto; and her grandchildren, Samuel and Evelyn. She was also cherished by her nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at the IOOF who provided her with great care and made the extra effort to read the nightly letters she received from her husband for approximately 286 days during the Covid-19 pandemic, until her final days.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to Parkinson's Canada or the Burton Avenue United Church, or to the Trillium Gift of Life Network for tissue and organ donations.
