He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hughes and Mary Hughes of New Glasgow, N. S; and his siblings, Eve (Fred), John, Frank (Reta), Kay (Herb), Edwin (Doris), Tony (Helen), Vince, Teresa (Paul), Laurie (Patsy) and Danny (Mary).

He is survived by: his wife Ruth; his children, Kelly-Lynn Hughes and Judy Hughes; his grandchildren, Eric and Caitlan; and his brother Ronald (Teresa).

In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Westminster Presbyterian Church or a charity of choice would be appreciated.
