He was predeceased by: his parents, Elaine Dawson and Harry Dawson; his brother John; his parents-in-law, Harry Stanworth and Ida; his siblings-in-law, Arthur and Dorothy; his granddaughter Lisa; and his great grandchild Raiden.

He is survived by: his wife Sherolyn; his children, Peter (Heather) and Carol Wright; his brother Brian (Christine); his brothers-in-law, Jack and Frank (Margaret); his son-in-law Raymond Wright; his grandchildren, Russell (Kristi), Jeffrey, Ryan, Steven (Tasha), Rob Leslie (Stef), Katie and Michael; and his great grandchildren, Cristian, Jeremiah, Lucas, Hannah, Izabelle, Gunner, Sophie and Lifelong.

Due to the Covid-19 situation at the present time, cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of life at a later date.
