It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Iona Hazel (Loney) Starr (Barrie, Ontario), who passed away on July 29, 2022, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

She was predeceased by: her husband Harold Starr; her son Wayne Starr (Krys); and her siblings, Joyce McArthur (Dan), Vera Keetch (Fred), Goldy Loney (Blanche), Mildred Douglas (Lanoris) and Muriel Loney.

She is survived by: her daughters, June Starr and Joyce Delong (Albert); her brother Burton Loney (Donna); her grandchildren, Angela Starr, Harold Delong (Kelly), Tammy Delong (Victor Richer), Shauna Starr (Doug Harrison), Amanda Starr (Brandon Bailey) and Joshua Starr; her great grandchildren, Alexis, Stephanie Delong, Drake, Cora Shellswell, Bonnie Harrison and Danika Bailey; and her stepgreat-grandchild Tanis Richer.

In Lieu of flowers, donations in Iona's memory may be made to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre or to Hospice Simcoe and are greatly appreciated by the family.

“Owen and I truly sorry to hear of Iona's passing. Over the years we spent many happy times together with her and the family. She always kept us in the loop on the family and it was a tradition for quite a few of those years to meet up for our annual "get-together" at Just Eddie's in Orillia and catch up on everyone. She is truly going to be missed I'm sure by all who knew her and loved her.. Sorry we can't come to her funeral, but with Owen's Alzheimer's and the distance it's not possible. .”
