He was predeceased by: his wife Slavka Sutej; his siblings, Janko Sutej and Mirko Sutej; and his parents, Ana Sutej and Joze Sutej.
He is survived by: his sons, George Sutej Jr. (Raun), Peter Sutej (Janette) and Jim Sutej (Corinne); his grandchildren, Hailey Sutej, Stephanie Sutej, Olivia Sutej, Michael Jones, Jessica Jones, Nicole Sutej, Joshua Sutej and Aidan Sutej; his great grandchildren, Tayvon Lawson, Hudson Sutej-Shand and Ayva Anderson; and his siblings, Josef Sutej and Anna Kobetich.
