Gary Franklin Sutherland Obituary

We are sad to announce that on November 13, 2024, at the age of 57, Gary Franklin Sutherland (Barrie, Ontario) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Virginia Roote; his children, Amanda Maynard (Aaron), Lauren Sutherland (Dylan Baker), Tyra Roote (late Drake Scott), Gary Roote, Jacob Roote and Jayda Roote; his grandchildren, Arya Maynard, Abby Maynard, Arlo Maynard, Shiye Baker, Nakoa Baker and Mickee Roote-Scott; his parents, Cheryl Sutherland and Frank Sutherland; and his siblings, Patricia Bauchman (late Rodney Sides) and Michael Sutherland. He was also cherished by extended family members and dear friends.

Visitation was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home (30 Worsley St, Barrie, ON L4M1L4). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Christian Island United Church. A burial was held on Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the Christian Island United Church Cemetery.
