George Millar John McAlpine Obituary
George Millar McAlpine, born April 24, 1930, passed away peacefully at Bancroft Quinte North Hastings Hospital on Friday the 18th of August, 2023. Son of the late John Patrick (Jack) and Isabel (McLean) McAlpine. Predeceased by his siblings Francis, Gordon, Harry and Eugene. Predeceased by his first wife Gwendolyn and his second wife Marilyn. He is survived by his daughters Lynda McAlpine (Jack Neuman), Sheila McAlpine-Morgan (Bruce), Brenda Prentice (Allen), and step-children Brenda and Brian Russell. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Mitchell Donaldson (Lauren), Morgan Donaldson (Amy), Erin Ellenberger-March (Michael), Ryan Prentice (Jolene), and Katelyn Walker (Josh). His great-grandchildren Charlotte, Elijah, Poppy, Silas, Clementine, Karalee, Quentin, MacKenzie, Colton and Aiden. Fondly remembered by his dear friend and companion Shirley Wiechenthal of Riverstone Residence in Bancroft. George's family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 1 p.m. at M.G. Daly Funeral Home, 200 Old Hastings Rd., Maynooth, ON. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Father Jim Beanish presiding. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Martyr Catholic Cemetery in Maynooth.
