He was predeceased by: his wives, Yvonne Melville (Sloat) and Helen Melville (Stafford); his son-in-law Jeff Bossuyt; his siblings, Joan Burke, Mabel Assel, Doug Melville, Bill Melville and George Melville; and his parents, George Melville and Violet Melville. He is also survived by step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
