He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo VanKemenade and Joan VanKemenade (Tops). He is survived by: his daughters, Lea Legg (Adam) of Kilworth and Megan VanKemenade of Aylmer; the mother of his children Kara Stanley; his grandchildren, Ruby and Oakley; and his siblings, Ingrid VanKemenade, Yvonne Gavey (Wayne), Bruce VanKemenade (Lisa) and Kevin VanKemenade (Shannon). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
