He was predeceased by: his brothers, Stephen and Richard (Cynthia); his nephew Darcy; his brother-in-law Jim; and his parents, Glenn McEown and Thelma McEown (Wiley).
He is survived by: his wife Donna McEown (Hilliker); his children, Tammy McEown, Dwayne McEown and Bobbi Lynn Knott (Brett); his grandchildren, Austin, Colton, Alisha and Lindsay; his great grandchild Willow; his siblings, Earl, Gordon (Mary), Roy (Rose), Alvin (Cheryl), Bertha Matlack (late Ken), Sarah Brazier and Darlene McEown; and his siblings-in-law, John Hilliker (Georgina), Connie McCabe (late Gus) and Frances McEown. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
