He was loved and cherished by many people including : his children, Victor, Margaret Van Loy, Peter and Katie Van Loy; his grandchildren, Vanessa, Troy Love, Julia Van Loy, Rodney Jansen, Hadyn Van Loy, Kayla, Patrick Hartman and Cory Gouthro; his great grandchildren, Jace and Connor Love; his friend Andrea Bowerman; his wife Edna Mae (Dolly); his parents, Josef Loy and Marie Van Loy (Bosmans); his siblings, Bruno Van Loy and Rosa DeWaechter Van Loy; his daughter-in-law Kimberly Van Loy (Mitchell); and his close friend Pinot.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, June 19th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home (119 Talbot St E, Aylmer, ON N5H1H3). A Mass was held on Thursday, June 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Sorrows R. C. Church (116 John St S, Aylmer, ON N5H2C4).
