He was predeceased by: his siblings, Tina, Kornelis, Cora, Lloyd, Ralph and Jim; and his parents, Tammo Jacob and Henderika Smit.
He is survived by: his spouse Lia; his grandchildren, Mark Provoost (Hayley), Brad Provoost (Caylee), Kevin Provoost, Janelle Groenenberg (Paul) and Corey Helder (Angelica); his great grandchildren, Mia, Reece, Lylah, Bowen, Trigg, Annabelle, Summer, Olivia, Tobias and Koa; and his siblings, Connie, Henry (Cynthia), Annie (Pieter), Martin (Maria), John (Marie), Esperanza and Anny.
