He was predeceased by: his son Barry Harms; his brothers, Neil Harms and Peter Harms; and his parents, Johan Harms and Elizabeth Harms (Reimer).
He is survived by: his wife Mary Harms (Schultz); his children, Ashley Harms and Nancy Dueck (Terry); his grandchildren, Megan, Bryan, Aaron and Karly; his siblings, Diedrich (Judy), Abe (Anita) and Isaac (Lynne); his child-in-law Rebekka Harms; and his sisters-in-law, Eva Harms and Mary Anne Harms. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
