She was predeceased by: her husbands, Maurice Vandecasteele and Richard Mattheus; her children, Christiane Whitman (Donald) and Eddie; her siblings, Emma DePaepe, Gabriel VanDenEeckhout, Camiel VanDenEeckhout, Frans VanDenEeckhout and Mary Tanghe; her sisters-in-law, Mary Rommel, Martha Decloet and Julia Verbuyst; and her parents, Justine Caulibut and Dominique VanDenEeckhout.
She is survived by: her children, Daniel Mattheus (Joyce) of Chatham and Suzanne Mattheus (Bob) of London; her stepchildren, Shirley Evely (Craig) and Ron Vandecasteele (Lisa); her sister Celina Jacobs (Alois); her siblings-in-law, Sylvere and Esther (Jules); and her great grandchildren, Richard (Amber), Travis, Tyson, Caitlyn, Jordan and Noah. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
