He was predeceased by: his brother Larry Ashford; and his parents, Laurel "Shorty" Ashford and Clara Ashford (Sadler). He is survived by: his children, Adam (Chrissy), Josh (Tiffany), Chelsey (Jason) and Graham; and his siblings, Ruth Anne Perrin (John) and Jim Ashford (Dianne). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
