He was predeceased by: his siblings, Nancy Collins, Jimmy Vance and Brian Schmidt; and his parents, Leonard Schmidt and Lila Vance.
He is survived by: his sister Helen Patterson (late Alfred); and his sister-in-law Sharon Vance. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
