He was predeceased by: his sons, Mark and Paul; his sister Yvonne Van Overloop; and his parents, August VandenWyngaert and Ida VandenWyngaert (DeWachter).
He is survived by: his spouse Jean VandenWyngaert (Lester); his children, Joan Perry (John) of Orwell, Patrick (Cheryl) of St. Thomas, Alan (Sue) of Aylmer, Kevin (Nancy) of Aylmer, Steven (Janice) of Aylmer and Rienna Laker (Dean) of Hamilton; and his sister Lucienne Coppens (Bill) of Kingston. He is also survived by his 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
