Evelyn Dobell (Taylor) Anne Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Evelyn Anne Dobell at the age of 95. Anne was born July 5, 1928, in Montreal to Evelyn (nee Pratt) and Leonard Taylor. She married Fraser Marshall (predeceased) in 1948 and together they had three children, Robin, Catherine and Taylor (aka Tim). In 1964, she married Alfred Dobell (predeceased) and became stepmother to Richard, Ian (predeceased) and Patricia. In 1965, Anne and Alfred had a son, Andrew.
Anne loved dancing, singing, going “antiquing” and gardening. She was a loving mother with a vibrant sense of humour and much patience. She was a great cook and we feasted on classic family dinners surrounded with love and laughter, sharing anecdotes from our “day” and the occasional wet dish towel fight when we “helped” do the dishes! Anne’s favourite dinner, though, was “Going OUT to dinner”, ever beautifully attired, at one or two of the fine restaurants in Oakville, Ontario!
Anne is survived by her loving family, Robin Comolli (Grant Loewen), Catherine Marshall (Graham Batchelor), Taylor Marshall (Marie Colford), Richard Dobell, Patricia Dobell (Rubin Kurtz), Andrew Dobell, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family would like to express our great appreciation for the wonderful care she received from All the Staff at Sunrise of Aurora, Ontario, as well as for the caring love and attention faithfully given to her for many years by her amazing companion care, Wendy Gaertner.
Donations to “Covenant House” or “Send a Kid to Camp” charities would be welcomed.
A private memorial will be held at a future date.
