“I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Smereka was both a great teacher and a very nice man. I was so glad that he remembered me at the school's 50th anniversary and we were able to talk about KCSS in the 70's. I was a well-behaved student but one day I kept getting out of my seat so, even though he laughed about it, he had me stay after class and help set up sheep's eyes for a senior class the next day. It was a privilege to work alongside such a devoted and professional teacher.”
