Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Verna King (Atikokan, Ontario), born in Rainy River, Ontario, who passed away at the age of 79, on February 8, 2019. She was predeceased by: her parents, Wilfred and Arvilla; her husband Melvin; her brother Morris Desserre; and her children, Cathy Bates and Rick King.

She is survived by: her children, Darren King and Patty McMillan; her grandchildren, Chad, Tyler McMillan, Shawn, Sherri King, Melissa and Kyle Bates; and her siblings, Ken Desserre (Laverne) and Bonnie Wolframe. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren.
