She was predeceased by: her husband John Newman; her parents, Clifford Howe and Marjorie Howe; her brother Johnson (Jean); and her daughter-in-law Grace.
She is survived by: her children, Eleanor (Peter Athersych) of Brockville, Jean (Robert Ford) of Dutton, Carolyn (Jim Purser) of London, Myrna of Alberta, Edward of Athens and Andrew (Laurie) of Ottawa; her grandchildren, Gideon, Emily (Kevin), John (Belinda), Aleisha, Kyla (Ryan), Gloria, Katie and Ashley; her great grandchildren, Liam and Gracelynn Newman; her sister Muriel (Sandy McHaffie); and her siblings-in-law, Cyril (Eileen), Gwen (Alan Whillans) and Dorothy Chellew (late Wayne). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, extended family.
In memory of Marjorie Newman, donations to the Upper Canada DSB Champions for Kids Foundation, the Athens District Family Health Centre, the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care), and Christ Church, Athens will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
