We are sad to announce that on August 7, 2023, at the age of 82, Hendrik Smid of Athens, Ontario passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his former wife Jane Smid; his parents, Folkert Smid and Jelske Smid; his parents-in-law, John Wilson and Hannah Wilson; and his brothers-in-law, Peter Schreiber and Marten Vanderkloet.
He is survived by: his wife Sally Smid; his children, Shirley Huinink (Jim) of Kitchener, Frank Smid (Chastity Leween) of Portland, Lisa Dullemond (Allan) of Athens, Johnathan Smid (Kim Kennedy) of Ottawa, Becky Smid (Mike Ingersoll) of Ottawa, Tess, Cicely, Joe, Corbin, Colton, Jane, Allisa, Georgia, Josephine, Eli, Lucy, Natalie and Caiden; and his siblings, Alice Schreiber (Peter) of Guelph, Otie VanderKloet (Marten) of Athens and Charlie Smid (Marie) of Athens. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends.
