He was predeceased by: his brother Peter DeJong; his sister-in-law Corrie; and his sister Catherine De Roos (Stewart). He is survived by: his wife Dorothy DeJong; his children, Jared DeJong (Karen), Sheila May (Ian), Jason DeJong (Laurie), Cheryl Moodie (Jonathan) and Joseph DeJong (Nika); his brother Barry; and his siblings-in-law, Cathy DeJong, Shirley DeJong, Dick Van Spriel (Rita) and Ed Van Spriel. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
