He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert and Marian Layng; his daughter Kimberley; his nephew Kris Slack; his brothers-in-law, Russell McWhirter and Alex McWhirter (Barbara); and also, Robert, Nan McWhirter and Marg Dolan (Layng).
He is survived by: his spouse Pearl Layng; his children, Rob and Dave (Shirley); his grandchildren, Ben, Raeanna (Connor) and Cody (Kristen); his siblings, Rosemary Hart (Ted) of Toronto and Linda Slack (Don) of Mallorytown; his sisters-in-law, Paulette Alguire and Beverly McWhirter; and also, John Layng (Marnie), Karen Layng (Nick) and Grant.
