She was predeceased by: her siblings, Laila Margretta and Swante; her husband Thomas Elford "Alf"; her grandchild Chris; and her cousin Jeanna Pryndik.
She is survived by: her children, Ardythe (Gary Duncan), Marjorie, Sandra, Lynne, Susan (Bill Barley), Pattie (Don Paxson), Cindy (John Massaro), Jim, Tom and Howard (Paula). She is also survived by 19 grandchildren as well as numerous great grandchildren.
In the later years of his life, "Alf" developed Alzheimers and Irja lovingly cared for him at home until his death.
