He was predeceased by: his grandson Austin (Janelle); and his siblings, Werner, Beatrice, Ernest and Tony.

He is survived by: his spouse Verena (Mettler); his children, Hans Tobler Jr. of Verner, Regula Tobler (Martin) of Switzerland and Martin Tobler (Kristina) of Arthur; his grandchildren, Vanessa (Aaron), Mathieu (Brittany), Valerie, Tobias (Calista), Tyler (Hayley) and Emily; his great grandchild Ilyas; and his siblings, Margaret (Wally), Rudy (Candice) and Elizabeth (Renald). He is also survived by his nieces, nephews and friends.
