He was predeceased by: his wife Grace; his brothers, John Oattes (Mary) and Bart Oattes (Gail); and his parents, Arnold Oattes and Doreen Oattes.
He is survived by: his children, Steven Oattes (Susan) of Perth and Kelly Brennan (Joe) of Arnprior; his grandchildren, Krista (Jordan), Chad (Justine), Trevor (Sarah) and Matt; his great grandchildren, Maverick Bevet, Emery Grace and Lucas; and his sister Helen Pettigrew (Murray) of Cobden. He is also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
