He was predeceased by: his spouse Gisela; his grandson Taylor Evans; his parents, Gerald Fitzpatrick and May Fitzpatrick; and his sister Betty Haines (late Ron).

He is survived by: his grandchildren, Sean Fitzpatrick (Amy Holwell), Chris Fitzpatrick, Curtis Evans (Jamie) and Erin Evans; his sibling Carol Orr (late Bill) of Stittsville; his nieces and nephews, Dianne, Fred, Lesley, Cathy, Karen and Joanne; his significant other Shirley Duhn; and also Audrey.

In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.
