He was loved and cherished by many people including: his close friend Bernadette Lunney; his children, Paul Hilyer (Ingrid) of Port Perry, ON and Lesley Anne Farrell (late Brian) of Mexico; his grandson Graham Hilyer; his brother John Hilyer (Joyce) of England; and his parents, Clement Hilyer and Florence Hilyer.
