He was predeceased by: his parents, Tom Calnan and Helen Calnan; and his siblings, Edward (WW II), Chris, John, Robert "Bob" Calnan and Marie Wells.

He is survived by: his wife Norma; his sons, Michael of Arnprior, Tim (Lynn Neville) of Ottawa and Stephen of Arnprior; his grandchild Jamie Sexsmith-Calnan; and his daughter-in-law Samantha Sexsmith of Almonte.
