He was predeceased by: his wife Pauline Bigras; his former wife Irene Virgin; his daughter Sylvia; his stepson Allen Clifford; and his brother James Gemmill.
He is survived by: his daughter Sharon Helgrun of Vancouver; his granddaughter Chantelle; his adoptive sons, Doug and Allen; his stepchildren, Réal Clifford (Karen) and Kim Clifford; his stepgrandchildren, Sarah and Ashley; and his siblings, Beth Rochon of Perth, Bob Gemmill (Val) of Sydenham, Paul Gemmill of McDonald's Corners and Ian Gemmill (Doris) of McDonald's Corners.
