He was predeceased by: his wife Joan Fowler; his daughter Janet Tearle (late Maurice "Moe" Lapierre); and his siblings, Eric, Colin, Sidney, Ron, Connie and Susan.
He is survived by: his friend Marion Ray; his son Howard Tearle (Colleen Shearer) of Delta, B. C; his grandchildren, Jennifer Phillips (Robert) of Arnprior and Greg Tearle (Neda) of Vancouver; his great grandchildren, Ainsley and Emily; and his sister Rachel Walmsley (late Bob) of Weeting, England..
